디지털 미디어 리터러시 연구자. 서울대학교에서 불어교육학을 전공하고 언론정보학을 부전공한 뒤, 하버드대학교에서 교육공학으로 석사 학위를, 영국 유니버시티칼리지런던(University College London) 교육학연구대학(Institute of Education)에서 미디어 리터러시 교육으로 박사 학위를 받았습니다. 경기도교육연구원에서 부연구위원으로, 서울대학교 빅데이터 혁신공유대학에서 연구교수로 근무했습니다.
미디어를 경험하는 ‘사람’에 초점을 맞추고, 미디어와 사람, 사회가 끊임 없이 서로를 상호 구성하는 모습을 연구합니다. 주요 연구 주제는어린이 청소년 미디어 문화, 디지털 시민성과 디지털 권리, 어린이 청소년 당사자와 공동연구방법 등입니다.
저서로는 『온라인의 우리 아이들』(2022), 『미디어 리터러시 교육의 이해』(2015), 『젠더와 미디어 경험: 뉴스, 게임, 커뮤니티, 리터러시』(기획, 2023), 『Children, Media and Pandemic Parenting』(공저, 2024) 『Learning to live with datafication』(공저, 2022) 등이 있으며 역서로는 『미디어 교육 선언』(공역, 2019)이 있습니다.

Dr Amie Kim is an independent researcher. Her research focuses on young people's media culture, children's digital rights, and digital citizenship.
After majoring in French Education and minoring in Journalism and Communication at Seoul National University, she received a master's degree in Technology in Education from Harvard University and a doctorate in Culture, Communication and Pedagogy from the Institute of Education, University of London. She worked as an associate researcher at the Gyeonggi Institute of Education in Korea and a research professor at the Big Data Innovation Sharing University at Seoul National University.
Her recent research explores young people's experiences as digital creators and youth-led research on children's digital rights. She currently lectures at Seoul National University and serves as a digital media literacy consultant for various institutions in South Korea.
